Pest Control and Lawn Care for Viera Homes
Viera is one of the most well-planned communities on the Space Coast, and the homes and lawns here reflect that. HOA standards are high, neighbors notice, and a lawn that looks bad stands out for all the wrong reasons.
The irony is that most of the worst-looking lawns in Viera are not suffering from neglect. They are suffering from too much water and mowing at the wrong height with a dull blade. Overwatered, scalped lawns are everywhere in Viera, and they are also more attractive to pests, more susceptible to disease, and harder to recover once they start declining. The bar for having the best looking lawn on your street in Viera is genuinely not that high if you do things right.
I offer a combined pest control and lawn fertilization and insect control program that handles both in a single visit every six weeks. The pest pressure in Viera, fire ants, roaches, ants of every species, and the usual Florida household pests, gets addressed at the same time as the lawn. Everything gets done together more frequently and for less than you would pay for separate services.

The Combined Pest Control and Lawn Care Program
How It Works
Instead of quarterly pest control visits, service increases to every six weeks when you add the lawn program. Every visit includes a granular fertilizer or treatment application to the lawn combined with the full perimeter pest control treatment. You get more frequent pest control and a professionally managed lawn for a single combined price.
The Lawn Program
The program uses a year-round granular approach. Every visit I am applying something to the lawn that does more than one job at once, either a fertilizer with pest control built in, a pre-emergent to prevent weed seeds from germinating, or a weed and feed product. There is no visit where the lawn just gets fertilizer and nothing else.
The Allectus Application
During the appropriate season I apply a granular fertilizer incorporating Allectus insecticide, a professional-grade dual-action product from Envu, formerly Bayer. Allectus combines two distinct chemical classes in a single application. One targets surface feeders like chinch bugs and sod webworms damaging turf from above. The other, Imidacloprid, moves into the root zone and targets subsurface pests like white grubs while providing residual prevention against fire ants establishing in the lawn. You are feeding the turf, knocking down current pests, and preventing future infestations in one granular application.
Summer: Complying with Brevard County’s Nitrogen Ban
Brevard County prohibits nitrogen fertilizer applications during the summer months to protect local waterways. My program is designed around this. During the restricted period I switch to a 0-0-7 formulation with Allectus and a full complement of minor elements. The lawn gets zero nitrogen to comply with the ban, but it still gets the Allectus insect protection and the micronutrients it needs to stay healthy and look good through the summer. Your turf stays protected from chinch bugs, grubs, and fire ants even during the months when nitrogen cannot be applied.
Winter
In winter I apply a weed and feed product along with a pre-emergent to prevent cool-season weed seeds from germinating before they become a problem. Getting ahead of winter weeds is significantly easier than dealing with them after they are established.
Slow-Release Granular Makes the Difference
I use slow-release granular fertilizer, not the fast-flush products that give your lawn a quick burst of green and then leave it hungry. Slow-release granular feeds the lawn steadily over time between visits, which means the dark green color holds all the way through the six-week interval rather than fading out in the middle. If you do not overwater, that color lasts even longer.
What Most Viera Homeowners Get Wrong About Their Lawn
This is worth its own section because it is the difference between a lawn that looks great and one that looks like everyone else’s.
Overwatering is the most common mistake by far. An irrigation system is a supplemental watering system, not a primary one. It is designed to fill in the gaps when natural rainfall is not enough, not to run on a fixed schedule regardless of what the weather has been doing. Overwatered lawns develop shallow root systems because the roots never need to reach deeper for moisture. Shallow roots mean turf that stresses easily, shows wear quickly, and is more susceptible to disease and pests.
A lawn that is watered only when necessary develops a deep, robust root system that holds up through dry periods, resists pests better, and maintains its color longer between fertilizer applications. The slow-release program works best on a lawn that is not being flushed with excessive irrigation every few days.
Mowing height and blade sharpness matter more than most people realize. Florida lawn grasses should be mowed at the correct height for the species, never scalped. A sharp blade cuts the grass cleanly. A dull blade tears it, leaving ragged edges that stress the plant, create entry points for disease, and give the lawn a dull, yellowish cast even when it is otherwise healthy. If your mower service is scalping your lawn or running dull blades, the best fertilizer program in the world will not make it look right.
Follow these three rules and you will have a noticeably better lawn than most of your neighbors in Viera. The bar is genuinely not that high because overwatered, scalped lawns are so common here.
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY
Pricing
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Quarterly pest control only | Starting at $99 |
| Combined pest control and lawn care, with irrigation rain sensor | Starting at $150 every 6 weeks |
| Combined pest control and lawn care, no irrigation rain sensor | Starting at $199 every 6 weeks |
The reason for the price difference is the same as the overwatering problem described above. A lawn without a rain sensor on the irrigation system often gets watered on a fixed schedule regardless of rainfall. That leads to overwatered turf that requires more product to stay healthy and pest-free. If you do not have a rain sensor, adding one is a simple and inexpensive fix that saves water, protects your lawn, and brings your service price down.
No long-term contracts. Free callbacks between visits if covered pests return. Seniors and active military receive 10% off.
Free Attic Dusting Once a Year
Every customer receives attic dusting with Delta Dust once per year at no additional charge. No other pest control company in Viera includes this as part of a standard service.
The attic is one of the primary routes insects use to enter the living space. Roaches nesting in attic insulation, ants traveling down through wall voids from colonies in the eaves, insects coming in through roofline gaps. A perimeter treatment does not reach any of that. I use a specialized modified blower to distribute Delta Dust throughout the entire attic space, covering every corner, every eave, and every void. Delta Dust is the world’s only 100% waterproof insecticidal dust and keeps working in Florida’s humid conditions for up to eight months after a single application.
Included in your annual service at no extra charge.
Comprehensive Pest Control Services

Termite Control in Viera
I offer complete subterranean and drywood termite control with instant online pricing, a yearly booster treatment included in every warranty renewal, and a $1,000,000 repair guarantee. The person treating your home is the licensed owner-operator who went to school for this and has been doing it for over 20 years. In that time I have never filed an insurance claim for termite damage, not once, because I make sure the job is done correctly the first time.
See the Termite Control page for full pricing and details, or ask about combining pest control and termite service when you book.

Lawn & Pest Control
What is included in the combined pest control and lawn care program?
Every six-week visit includes the full perimeter pest control treatment plus a granular lawn application. Depending on the season that is either a fertilizer with Allectus insect control, a pre-emergent, or a weed and feed product. During Brevard County’s summer nitrogen ban I switch to a 0-0-7 with Allectus so the lawn stays protected from insects and gets its minor elements without violating the ban. The program covers pest control, fertilization, insect control, weed prevention, and fire ant prevention in a single combined service.
Why does Brevard County ban nitrogen fertilizer in summer?
Brevard County prohibits nitrogen fertilizer applications during the summer months to reduce nutrient runoff into the Indian River Lagoon and other local waterways. My program is designed around this restriction. The lawn does not miss a treatment during the ban because I switch to a compliant formulation that still delivers insect protection and micronutrients without nitrogen.
Why does the lawn program cost more without a rain sensor?
Without a rain sensor, irrigation systems run on a fixed schedule regardless of rainfall and typically overwater the lawn. Overwatered turf requires more product to stay healthy and requires more effort to manage pests and weeds effectively. A rain sensor is an inexpensive fix that shuts the irrigation off when it rains, prevents overwatering, and brings your service price down.
What are the three most important things a Viera homeowner can do for their lawn?
Water only when necessary, not on a fixed schedule. Mow at the correct height for your grass type and never scalp. Keep your mower blade sharp so it cuts cleanly rather than tearing the grass. Follow those three rules and your lawn will look noticeably better than most in Viera, because overwatered and scalped lawns are genuinely the norm here and the bar is not high.
